The author has been married to their wife for 9 years and has been married for just under 6 months. They come from a toxic family, with her sister being addicted to meth and her parents always expecting her to adopt any children her sister produced. The author initially told her that if she adopted the children, the relationship wouldn’t work out, but she agreed and had no desire to. Last week, the author’s wife feels guilty about leaving the children behind and plans to formally adopt them. The author has made it clear early on that they do not want to raise the children and have been arguing about her decision. The oldest girl is pregnant, the middle child is a decent child, and the youngest one just got out of prenatal ICU due to the mother’s incessant drug abuse during pregnancy. The author is 22, and the author has already told their parents that if she doesn’t stop, that’s their plan.
