ALL IN ALL!

The author, a roommate, is dealing with Loony Lucy, a slovenly and food-stealing roommate who has been causing issues for her. She has been keeping her space clean and ignoring her areas, storing food at work or her boyfriend’s place, and installing a lock on her bedroom door to prevent her from borrowing outfits. Loony Lucy broke the Cardinal Roommate Rule, which required both roommates agreeing before a key could be given to the apartment. Unbeknownst to the author, Loony Lucy had met a man online and invited him to stay over for the weekend. She mailed the man a key to their shared apartment, and the author screamed at him, causing him to leave. The author then called Loony Lucy and asked her if she gave him a key. She agreed, and the author moved in with him the next day. Loony Lucy did not apologize or apologize, and the author is now in charge of Loony Lucy’s rent. The 2-year lease is in the author’s name, as Loony Lucy’s credit is poor, and she had been living with her parents for months before rooming together. The author can sublet the apartment for the remaining 14 months on the lease, or evict her.

A man posts a roommate ad on Craigslist, promising to keep his deposit and pay the first two months’ rent and sublet fee on the condition that they know they’re living with a food-thieving, clothing-destroying, bitchy slob. He gets a few nibbles but no one matches his taste. He then gets a message from Kevin, who is not concerned about the food-thieving and doesn’t worry about Loony Lucy borrowing his clothes. Kevin agrees to the deal, but Loony Lucy is upset and raging. Kevin moves in, and Loony Lucy receives voice mails about her subletting process. She can’t move out because she can’t get a lease elsewhere and her parents won’t let her move back home. Loony Lucy has to pay half of the rent because Kevin promised to change the locks and move her stuff out. After a few weeks of silence, Loony Lucy calls again, and Kevin brings men home every couple nights.
