‘AITA for not letting my son’s father claim him on taxes?’
ALL IN ALL!
The author and their son, DS, have been hospitalized since he was 6 weeks old due to chronic lung and airway issues. DS has been in and out of the hospital since then, and the author has been a constant supporter of him. BD has not seen DS much, and he has not done anything to support him other than buying diapers. The author has told BD that he would not file for child support if he bought a box of diapers and wipes every other month. BD has not upheld his end, so the author filed for child support.
BD has been concerned about DS’s health and the possibility of seeing his third birthday. The author believes that the child tax credit is for parents who support and raise their kids, and he believes he will use the money to get a car. The author is ineligible to file taxes and feels that they may be the A-hole for not claiming DS.
After hearing from this frustrated mom, who do you think is in the right?
“AITA for bringing my child to my sister’s wedding?” 💁♀️
“AITA for using gift cards to pay for dinner on my date” 😞
