ALL IN ALL!
The author, a 32-year-old with a brother, Charles, and a girlfriend, Claire, have a daughter, Ruby, who has additional needs. They are going on a family holiday over Christmas, and Claire is bringing Ruby, who was originally not bringing Ruby. Claire loves their daughter and is always willing to babysit her. However, she is also fussy over Bea, which is not acceptable. Recently, Claire suggested a “kid swap” where they babysit each other’s kids for a day.
The author, a SAHM, was initially hesitant due to her limited knowledge of Ruby’s needs and her desire to spend time with her. However, Claire eventually agreed and stopped texting. Charles is now hurt that the author won’t let her take Bea out, but the author is not comfortable caring for Ruby alone and finds it odd that Claire’s idea of a break from parenting involves babysitting.
I told my son/nephew the truth and my wife is pissed.
