9 Aspects Women Shouldn’t Feel Ashamed of in the 21st Century

We’re all familiar with that friend who proudly declares, “I can juggle work, kids, and keep my home spotless. Why can’t you find time to iron your bed covers or visit the salon?” However, it’s important to recognize that nobody has the right to criticize others for their personal choices. Regrettably, many women still feel compelled to justify perfectly normal decisions.

Women typically have around 30% of their skin covered with dark hair. However, despite its often minimal visibility, many individuals opt to remove such hair due to cultural beauty standards.

Eva Mendes, who regularly shaves her face, attests that it results in smoother skin. Ultimately, whether to keep or remove hair is a personal choice. Who can rightfully criticize such decisions?

Having a double chin doesn’t necessarily indicate being overweight; it can emerge due to aging or genetic factors. Numerous celebrities embrace this aspect of themselves, and we should strive to love ourselves and others just as they are.

Stretch marks after pregnancy

We all recall how stunning Kate Middleton looked after the birth of her third child. However, a woman’s body undergoes significant changes post-pregnancy—skin may loosen, and stretch marks can appear. But this is entirely natural.

Why should the number of stretch marks on a woman’s belly matter, when she has brought a new life into the world? Many celebrities, unashamed of such “flaws,” confidently share unfiltered pictures online.

Some celebrities opt not to wear makeup, not just in their everyday lives but even at prestigious events like the Oscars. Conversely, others refrain from posting selfies without full makeup. Everyone has their own preferences and choices, so why pass judgment on them?

The era of flawless porcelain skin being the ultimate trend is behind us. Our skin is dynamic, constantly changing due to internal processes and external influences. Even Hollywood stars experience sudden pimples from time to time, which is perfectly normal.

Some women may judge pregnant individuals who, in their opinion, have a small belly. They may express doubt or compare them to their own experiences (“I had a much larger belly at this stage”). However, in reality, if the doctor confirms that the pregnancy is progressing well, having a small belly, even in the second trimester, is perfectly normal—just as having a larger belly at any stage is.

Toe hair

Hair can grow on your toes as well. Some individuals prefer to shave them off, while others are unconcerned about the hairs. For instance, in response to a critical comment suggesting she should shave her toes, a popular blogger shared a picture of her feet with the word “No” written on her toenails.

Breast size

Some women face criticism for having a flat chest, while others endure shame for their large bust. However, attempting to please such critics is often futile.

Natalie Portman revealed that media began mocking her shape when she was just 13 years old, while Keira Knightley experienced unauthorized photoshopping to increase her bust size. Salma Hayek’s measurements have also been subject to scrutiny by many.

In conclusion, it’s advisable not to stress over such opinions and simply embrace and love your body as it is.

There’s no need to feel embarrassed about having big feet, especially considering the example set by celebrities. Heidi Klum, for instance, wears around size 11 shoes, yet she proudly owns 2,000 pairs of stylish footwear, which she hopes to pass down to her daughters.

This list is by no means exhaustive. It’s high time we embrace the normalcy of features like arm folds or Venus rings and abandon the vilification of certain aspects of appearance altogether.
