ALL IN ALL!
The author is planning to marry her fiancé this winter and is facing an issue over her nephew and brother. The author’s brother, who was 18 when his girlfriend revealed she was pregnant, moved in with her and decided to find work as a mechanic instead of going to college. The author’s nephew has been close to the author since they were kids. Five years ago, the author’s brother discovered the nephew’s identity and suspected his ex-wife was sleeping with someone else.
They got a divorce, and the author’s brother refused custody of the nephew. The author intervened as the main male figure in their nephew’s life, even taking him to his alma mater. The author believes the brother is being petty and childish, taking the words of a scared and angry 14-year-old seriously. The author encourages the nephew to not be ridiculous and to see the situation from their brother’s perspective.
I told my son/nephew the truth and my wife is pissed.
