Corny but cute and who doesn’t love a good wedding?

My biggest question though is who has so many friends that they are a bridesmaid in 27 weddings??? I either need to go out more or that is unrealistic af.

Date idea = hydroplaning in a car, stumbling into a bar, getting drunk and singing Benny and the Jets on the tabletops. Guaranteed to end in love.

Fave line: “Love is patient, love is kind, love means slowly losing your mind.”

#14 – He’s Just Not that into You (2009)

Confused over a guy who is giving you mixed signals? Fed up with the way a boy is treating you? Watching this movie is like having a DnM with your older, wiser, friend and getting the wake up call you need.

I love how they represent different kinds of women and friendship groups, all discussing the same boy dramas. Goes to show that no matter where in the world – guys are super confusing!

Fave line: “We are all programmed to believe that if a guy acts like a total jerk that means he likes you.”

#13 – Sweet Home Alabama (2002)

Ugh, look I don’t blame a young Reese Witherspoon for finding it hard to get over a young Josh Lucas, because girl, I would too.

They drive each other up the wall but the chemistry is blatantly obvious.

Fave line: “Why’d you wanna marry me for anyhow?”
– “So I can kiss you anytime I want.”

#12 – Killers (2010)

Orderly, by-the-book Jen meets spontaneous, daredevil Spencer and the two fall in love.  But will their polar opposite pasts prove too difficult?

Listen, I get that your husband lying about being a hitman in the past is kind of bad, but if he looked like Ashton Kutcher I’m positive I’d get over it.

Fave line: “I take it back, I love your parents! I’m sending them a mental hug right now.”

#11 – The Holiday (2006)

This combines two of my all time favourite things – Christmas & rom-coms.
Set in both snow-covered England and sunny LA, Amanda and Iris swap homes for the holidays in order to distract themselves from their bad breakups.

Cameron Diaz (Amanda) and Jude Law (Graham) make one of the best looking couples on the planet. Kate Winslet (Iris) and Jack Black (Miles) make a super cute and supportive team. There’s nothing I love more than putting this film on when counting down the days ’til Christmas but not gonna lie, I watch it all year round and you should too!

Fave line: “I am in love with you. I apologise for the blunt delivery, but as problematic as this fact may be, I am in love… with you.”

#10 – The Devil Wears Prada (2006)

Such.a.classic!

Meryl Streep is fantastic in her role as a powerful, fashion magazine editor. Anne Hathaway is super relatable and endearing as Andy, the new assistant.

Hilariously brilliant and the perfect movie for a gals night.

Fave line: “Florals? For spring? Ground breaking.”

#9 – The Other Woman (2014)

There’s nothing stronger than the power of girls banding together to destroy the reputation of a cheating guy and this movie provides that in spades.

It’s the perfect example of #girlpower and how by sticking together instead of hating each other, you can make friends in the strangest of situations!

Fave line: “We got played by the same guy… do you want vodka or tequila?”

#8 Dirty Dancing (1987)

Two words: PATRICK. SWAYZE.

The dancing, the incredible soundtrack, the story-line. It’s all an A+ from me.

If you are yet to check out this classic film, do yourself a favour and watch it right now!!

Fave line: “Nobody puts Baby in a corner.”

#7 – The Proposal (2009)

Ryan Reynolds is quite possibly my perfect man – hilarious, intelligent and  a total babe. He makes this movie with his sassy comebacks.

Sandra Bullock’s tribal dance in the woods to Get Low (To the Window, to the Wall) never fails to make me laugh. Homegirl kills it.

A funny, entertaining, feel good movie – the definition of a quality rom-com in my books!

Fave line: – “What am I allergic to?”
                  –  “Pine nuts and the full spectrum of human emotion.”

#6 – She’s the Man (2006)

When I first discovered this movie I watched it 4 times in 1 week and can now act it out scene by scene – if that doesn’t allude to how fantastic this movie is then idk what will.

Amanda Bynes is absolutely hilarious in what I would call her best film to date.

She’s the Man is choc-a-bloc full of awesome one-liners which will have you rolling on the floor laughing – I promise.

Top 3 Lines (because it’s so hard)
1 “Does he have your number? 1800-Bitch”
2 “Why yes I do, my favourite’s Gouda!”
3 “I am a dude. I am a hunky dude! I’m a bad-ass hunky dude!”

#5 – John Tucker Must Die (2006)

This movie gives off The Other Woman vibes but takes it to the next level – I’ll explain.

Three women discover they’re all dating the same guy and they decide to get even by creating the perfect woman, making him fall in love and then breaking his heart.

John Tucker Must Die is another hilarious movie with a super hot cast and bangin’ soundtrack! Watch it and thank me later.

Fave line: “I’d hit him with my car if he wouldn’t make a body cast a fashion statement.”

#4 – Something Borrowed (2011)

Okay so the premise of this story isn’t the greatest because being in love with your BFF’s guy is never going to end well. BUT this is one of the most entertaining movies ever!

John Krasinski is incredible and he makes the badminton scene (my personal favourite of the entire movie) hilariously entertaining.

Buckle yourself in for a wild ride filled with love, heartbreak, friendship and betrayal.

Fave line: “If he breaks your heart, I’m gonna take a swing at him. Then I’m gonna let him beat me up.”

#3 – To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (2018)

THIS. FLIPPING. MOVIE.

Not going to lie, I watched this film 3 times in 3 days because I could not get enough of Peter Kavinsky and Lara Jean Covey.

The characters are SO relatable, the cast are super talented and the script is magic.

Personally, I’ve always been a sucker for the fake-dating trope but this movie does it so well that even haters have fallen in love with it. I’m calling it the best rom-com of 2018.

I am now taking applications for my own Peter Kavinsky to write me daily love letters. Apply within.

Fave 3 Lines: (All of Peter’s lines make me melt)

  1. “You gonna break my heart, Covey?”
  2. “You were never second best.”
  3. “Damn Covey, you’re a player.”

#2 – How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)

KRUI radio

Name a hotter couple than Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson – I’ll wait.

Both trying to prove a point at work, he’s trying to make her fall in love while she’s trying to drive him away within 10 days.

Between the love fern, the game of BULLSHIT, the You’re So Vain duet and Andy (Kate) making a mock photo album of what their kids would look like, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days provides the highs and lows of relationships with the cutest, albeit unsafe (looking at you Ben (Matthew)), ending!

Fave line: “You can’t lose something you never had.”

#1 – 10 Things I Hate about You (1999)

Bustle

Ah yes, we’ve reached the #1 MUST WATCH romantic comedy and dare I say, the best movie ever made.

No matter how many times I watch this movie, I can never get enough.

Based off Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew, this modernised tale is set in an American high school and encompasses scheming, dating, fighting and friendships.

It also has a killer soundtrack so if you’re looking for new music to add to your Spotify playlists, it’s worth a watch!

If nothing else, 10 Things I Hate about You provides 1 hour and 39 mins of a young Heath Ledger. He was so gorgeous! *swoons*

ugh heath

Fave line: “I guess in this society being male and an asshole makes you worthy of our time.”

So that concludes my top 15 must-watch romantic comedies. Have I missed any of your favourites? Let me know in the comments below!
